Huawei & Punjab Government Partner Up for E-Service in Health, Education & More
Punjab government is taking steps to digitize healthcare and education facilities within the province.
Huawei is going to partner with the provincial government on this initiative and will be launching pilot projects in several hospitals and schools/colleges.
The agreement between the Chinese company and Punjab government in this regard was signed a few days ago.
Chairman Planning and Development Punjab, Jahanzeb Khan, said,Huawei Technologies Company has agreed to set-up e-services pilot projects in four hospitals, one university, one college, one high school and one elementary school free of cost in Punjab as its pilot projects.
During the signing of the agreement, Huawei CEO Saif-Chi was present with Najam Ali Shah, Secretary Specialized Healthcare Punjab.
E-Classrooms and Monitoring SystemAccording to the agreement, an e-classroom or smart classroom will be set up in IT University Lahore.
The new classroom will promote interactive learning and will allow the students to communicate and collaborate with students from other educational institutes as well.
A monitoring system will also be installed to monitor activities on campus to ensure nothing suspicious is going on.
The system will be able to keep a record of the recorded footage from the security cameras around the college.
IT University Lahore is just one of the universities getting these new facilities.
Others like Directorate of Staff Development Lahore, Government High School Raiwind Lahore and Government College of Elementary Teachers, Multan are also going to get an e-classroom and a monitoring system installed.
Huawei’s Healthcare SolutionsThe hospitals chosen for Huawei’s pilot project are District Hospital Muzaffargarh, Children’s Hospital Lahore, Tehsil Headquarter Hospital Gojra and Rural Health Center.
The company will provide them with technical assistance in healthcare solutions.
These hospitals will be getting an information management system as well.
Huawei’s medical solutions include tele-medicine applications, which include remote doctor visits, surgery demonstrations, consultation services and other medical videos on demand.
